Amy's has gotten better since it opened about a year and a half ago, but it still needs work to justify it's downtown-Seattle range prices. I can take a ferry to many places in Seattle that charge the same and blow this place away. However, the service has improved quite a bit, the wine list is much better, and the ambience is good. Our dinners had promise, but were missing something here and there--overcooked and bland chicken here, chewy and unispired tuna there. it wasn't a BAD meal, really--but when you drop $100 on a dinner for two (with a great Spanish wine, thanks), you expect a little better.

When ever I'm in Port Orchard, I come here. The food is always very good, but it is a bit pricey. Since I live in Phoenix, I have to fill up on fried ousters when I'm visiting the family. Amy's ousters are always cooked perfectly and very fresh. The chowder is very good as well. My sister had fish taco's which she loved. (Except the tortilla's were not up to Phoenix standards) I thought for the money, she should have gotten more fish, but she was happy. We also had the seafood dip which was really good. I wasn't completely blown away...but it was good. Fresh, no fake crab....good stuff. We sat at a table by a window which gives you a great view. Our waitress was fantastic. She waited on us last year, and was just as good then. She magically appeared when we needed her, and was gone when we didn't. I'm giving her a star for being awesome! If you go there, look for the little Asian girl....that's her. You'll love her.

First off, let's get this straight; this review is written about a restaurant in Port Orchard, wa ... this is not Seattle, San francisco, or even Gig harbor. So I am still experiencing sticker shock related to the prices at Amy's on the Bay: basic burger for lunch $12.99, Kobe for $14.99, a french dip sandwich touted as 'huge' for $12,99 and it maybe tipped the scale at one eighth of a pound in roast beef at best, and the salads ranged from $12.99 to $17.99 for lunch. The service was marginal and the overall experience was a let down. We had been there before but gave it another try ... and we both walked out thinking, 'now we know why we haven't been here in a long time; over priced and under-whelmed.' Just because you are one of the only class establishments in the area does not mean you should charge premium prices for 'average' food. Compared to its original owner in Poulsbo, JJ's, which has reasonable prices, great food and consistently sends us away with left overs and a feeling of value, Amy's a true disappointment.
